Coredell Marine
The River Tyne

The river

The Tyne, recharged

A shipbuilding river, moving forward.

The Tyne’s industrial heritage is a foundation, not a museum piece. We are building the capability, skills and ambition to make electric marine manufacturing part of its next chapter.

Wallsend still knows how to put metal in the water. Coredell Marine Ltd is here to put that knowledge to work on fully electric vessels for fishing, leisure and offshore wind — boats specified around operational demand, built on the same river that once supplied the world.

The yard sits at Morston Quay: Unit A4, Stephenson Street. Coredell Marine Ltd manufactures here; Scaretech Global Ltd leads as sponsor, operator and shore-side infrastructure partner from North Shields. Private jetty. Working water. A short line from drawing to trial.

Why we approached Scaretech

The site, the job, and the energy.

We build boats on the Tyne at Wallsend — engineering, production, systems. What we needed next was not an empty quay. We needed a partner already doing the offshore job, with a proper facility on this river. That is why we approached Scaretech Global in North Shields.

01

The facility

A working Tyne base with river access, space to build and mobilise, and the shore side to turn a vessel around. We want to build from that facility, and we want to operate from it. Same water. Build, charge, crew, and send the boat back out.

02

The offshore job

Scaretech comes out of real oil, gas, marine and renewables work. A crew-transfer boat only works if the people specifying it have stood on a landing and got a team on and off a structure. We can design and weld. They know what the boat has to do when it leaves the lock.

03

Battery and solar

The vessels we want to build are electric and hybrid workboats — quiet in harbour, charged on the river, solar on the cabin roof. Scaretech already have battery and solar capability. That means the pack, the shore power and the working day can be designed with the people who will run the boat, not fitted by us and hoped for on the quay.

So we asked them to partner. Coredell engineers, builds and integrates. Scaretech sponsor, own and operate. We want that whole loop on their facility — because the site is right, the offshore experience is real, and the battery and solar capability is already there.
